"Soul Reset" Book Study
I used to play video games all the time when I was younger. Perhaps too much! Sometimes when I played them for too long, the video game console would get overheated and start causing the game to glitch. Eventually, it would stop working, and the game would be paused. But luckily, there was a reset button. So, I could hit that button, and the game would start again like new. But if you had not saved your progress before the game froze, then all your progress would be lost. Sometimes in life, we are going a million miles per hour in a thousand directions. Sometimes we keep doing the same routine repeatedly, expecting different results. There are so many expectations of us that by the end of the day, we have forgotten to live our lives while we are busy doing our lives. Eventually, we get “overheated,” and we wish we had a reset button. Our new sermon series starting Sunday, January 15th, is based on the book Soul Reset by Junius Dotson. Soul Reset is all about slowing down, finding rest and wholeness, and connecting with God. It is about leaning on God, finding hope again, and working toward a better way of living in this world while still being fully committed to loving God and loving our neighbor.
