Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from the word 'Shriven' meaning absolve. Shrove Tuesday is observed by many Christians who make a point of self-examination to consider the wrongs they need to repent and what areas of spiritual growth they need to ask God's help in dealing with. The other name for this day, Pancake Day, comes from the old English custom of using up all the fattening ingredients in the house before Lent so that people were ready to fast during Lent.
This is the choir’s annual fundraiser. Proceeds will go to support youth in missions.
