I Will Trust in the Lord

Today, we began our day with worship. Bishop Sharma Lewis began her message by singing her favorite spiritual: “I Will Trust in the Lord”. And then she posed the question: “Will you put your trust in the Lord?”

It was a great way to start the day.

After worship, the General Conference resumed its formal work by focusing on a piece of legislation to allow elections to be held at annual conferences to fill vacancies for upcoming jurisdictional and central conference meetings. Since most delegates were elected in 2019, there are delegates who are no longer able to serve as delegates for a variety of reasons which is causing some annual conferences to be under-represented at jurisdictional and central conference meetings.

We also heard a report from the Connectional Table. Then, the body was dismissed to continue their work in the various legislative committees. It will be interesting to see what emerges from the different committees.
