Volunteer Worship Arts Technician

The goal of the position

The purpose of this position is to enhance the worship presentation through audio and visual operations. In addition to the general operation of audio, the operator’s main goal should be to eliminate as many distractions as possible that could detract from the worship time. Sound is critical to one’s experience in worship.

Job description

Operators should arrive early to set up and prepare for worship. In addition, the operator will:

  • Run tech (sound, slides, live-stream) during appointed worship time.

  • Follow all assigned operating procedures.

  • Be attentive during service times so as not to miss any cues.

  • Understand that he/she is a valuable part of the worship team.

  • Attend any meetings and training events.

  • Be dependable, consistent, and committed to your task.

Time required

Three to four hours, 8:00 am – 12:00 p.m. on Sunday mornings.

Length of commitment

Currently, the sound schedule operates on a rotation basis, so each operator would be responsible for at least one service time per month.

Training provided

In order to develop people in their ministry roles, it is important that operators be trained with the proper understanding of all the equipment. All operators will be instructed by the head technician.

Qualifications or special skills

Each operator should be able to troubleshoot any issue so as not to distract from the time of worship.
